Lip colour NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil “Damned”, J.Crew Necklace
As stated previously, wine lips are a huge hit this season. I’ve been testing out different products in this shade for some time now and think I’ve found a few that are becoming staples in my lip colour collection, like NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Damned” pictured above. This pigment-rich stick is creamy and glides on easily while providing a matte finish that won’t dry out your lips.
It’s all trial and error (and a lot of colourful test swatches on my wrist) when finding a wine hue that works best for your skin tone. I have a pretty fair complexion and thus find darker wines wash me out and make me look a little too vampy. A happy medium for me was choosing a colour that’s clearly wine but with a slightly pink undertone helping to keep my look crisp but warm at the same time. And what better way to compliment a bold lip then with a sparkling statement necklace. There isn’t one in my opinion.
Step out of your lip colour comfort zone and try something a little more daring. Don’t be afraid. You might just be pleasantly surprised.
