Product Pick :Redken
Anyone who knows me or has been in my bathroom/shower can swear in front of a grand jury that I without a shadow of a doubt have used the Redken All Soft products religiously for years. To be perfectly honest I can’t even venture a guess at how many years because its been that long. I swear by them and other Redken products. My hair remains incredibly soft, shiny, strong and manageable. And might I add the All Soft Collection smells intoxicating? If I had a nickel for every time my friend Adam (shout out to Acon) has sniffed my hair and commented on how amazing it smells, let’s just say I’d have a piggy bank full of nickels. I do realize I just made him sound totally creepy but believe me when I say he’s anything but. He’s such a gentle giant. If you don’t suffer from dry hair from time to time then a) I hate you because you must have beautiful bountiful locks and b) this might not be the product for you. But you’re in luck! Redken’s products cater to coloured hair, flat hair, fine hair—you name it!
I know what you’re thinking. It’s more expensive than your average shampoo that you can pick up at any drug or grocery store. I get it. I can’t argue with you. Here is what I can argue. I buy the All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner in their 1L bottles. I know it may seem like a lot of money up front (usually around $25-$30 a bottle depending on the salon) but the bottles last me around 5-6 months if not more. Thus, I’m spending a little over $100 a year on shampoo and conditioner. How often do you replace your smaller shampoo bottles? I’d hazard a guess and say a lot more often than twice a year and that the numerous bottles you end up having to purchase don’t end up being cheaper than the salon shampoo alternative in the long run. Just putting it out there. You can pick up what I’m putting down or send it right back my way. Just a perspective.
On another note, notice how we spend so much time taking care of our skin? We want to clean it, buff it, polish it, remove all the impurities. I’m one of them! Why not give your hair the same treatment once in awhile? It doesn’t have to be often but to keep your locks well maintained it’s a good idea. Hair styling products leave build-up on all hair types due to repeated use in addition to pesky iron and hard water minerals that stick around too. Redken Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo is always in my product arsenal. I use it in place of my shampoo once a week and it never ceases to amaze me how clean my hair feels afterward. It purifies and refreshes your hair by removing all the junk that just doesn’t need to stick around.
During the same shower session I follow up the Hair Cleansing Cream Shampoo with Redken All Soft Heavy Cream (a super easy at home rinse out hair mask). Now that you’ve thoroughly cleaned your hair you want to deeply moisturize and condition so it will be shiny and soft! You don’t have to pair together the two products, I just find when I deeply clean I also need to deeply condition. Quite often if my hair is feeling dry I will use the Heavy Cream as a daily conditioner until my hair gets back on track. It’s truly a product every haircare diva needs to have.
As women, we all have our best assets. One of mine is my hair. I’ve always been told I have great hair and it’s something I take pride in. And now you know—Redken is my hair weapon of choice.
What’s your best asset?
