Product Pick :Dior Mono Eyeshadow Spring 2013 Collection

Dior lovers, are you in for a treat! Nude eye shadow lovers, are you in for a treat! Smoky eye shadow lovers, are you in for a treat! Ok, ok! We’re all in for a treat. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—J’adore Dior! I’m envisioning myself at this very moment filling in for Charlize Theron in the J’adore Dior fragrance commercial. You know the one. She’s late and rushing to get down the runway and then struts her stuff like nobodies business. Yep, that’s me…*ahem*

Back to the point, Dior’s new Mono Eye Shadow’s are flawless like all their other beauty products. What I love most about this collection is it’s filled with nude and smoky colours, allowing you to mix and match shades creating countless smoky eye combinations with shades like #477 Camouflage, #783 Velvet or #096 Kohl. Don’t like a smoky eye? Then create a flawless no makeup look to your hearts content with colours like #506 Nude, #623 Ribbon, #726 Grège, #564 Choc Clair or #566 Panama. Even better? The shadows can be applied dry for a more natural finish or wet to add a more dramatic effect.

Like their other shadows, the product has a buttery smooth application. Little tip, when picking out what shades to try test them on your hand or arm first before you head to the purchase counter. You might be surprised to see that the darker shades you might be less likely to buy aren’t nearly as dark as you may have expected.

For example, the shades I decided to try are #506 Nude and #477 Camouflage (pictured left). Applied dry, I used the nude colour all over the lid, blended the deep green shade into the crease and finished the look with a grey liner and black mascara. What I love most about this look? It’s a smoky eye that I’d feel comfortable wearing during the day. It’s the perfect balance of subtle vs. smoky and if you’re wanting to step it up for evening re-apply using the wet technique.

The new Dior Mono Eyeshadow shades will be available at Dior Beauty Counters worldwide as of February 2013. Whether you go nude, smoky or add a punch of colour these shadows won’t disappoint.
