DIY Valentine Cards
Valentine’s Day reminds me of being a kid. I remember sitting around the dining room table signing valentines for my classmates and rushing to school the next day bursting with excitement to hand them out and receive some in return. Simply put, it always felt nice reading notes from friends and taking the time to show one another you care.
I’m notoriously bad at card giving. I’ve got my family and friends birthdays down pat, but when it comes to other occasions like the holidays I always fail miserably at getting organized and sending out well wishes to those closest to me. In an effort to do better this year, Valentine’s day is my jumping off point. I can honestly say, my husband aside, that I can’t remember the last time I gave a valentine. It’s a tradition done annually as children but somehow as we age it becomes a lost art. I certainly love my friends just as much, if not more than I did as a young girl so this year I decided to make some homemade cards for a few special women in my life who have shown me incredible love and support over the past few months.
No matter your age, send some valentines this year to those you love. It’s a simple gesture, but it’s those gestures that mean the most.
