All you need is love…

Love is all you need. Never was there a more true statement and Gap’s 2012 holiday campaign is about just that. For years Gap’s holiday advertising has shone a little brighter than most of their competition. One of my personal faves was the 2009 plaid campaign but that’s to be expected as I’m the president of the plaid loving association. This years campaign is no exception and truly shows just how far we as humans are growing in terms of loving unconditionally. We have a long way to go but as someone who believes in universal acceptance, just the idea that we’re heading in that direction brings tears to my eyes.

The campaign is titled “Love Comes in Every Shade” and focuses on our favourite cozy colourful knitted goods because lets face it, Winter is about hunkering down in our coziest garments. It aims to show a-typical relationships and many forms of love ranging from puppy love, best friend love and even wedded bliss. A-list celebrities shower the campaign including the cast of The New Normal (Justin Bartha, Andrew Rannells, BeBe Wood, NeNe Leakes and Georgia King), Michael J. Fox and wife Tracy Pollan and newlyweds Rufus Wainwright and husband Jörn Weisbrodt (Canadians represent!). With everything this campaign embodies I’m not surprised that celebrities jumped on board to show their support.

The collection features everything from two-toned gloves, bright pants to classic v-neck sweaters. What I’m most excited about?  The scarves! As I’ve said before I love scarves and am ok admitting that I hoard them. Want to see the rest of their campaign images? Check out the gallery below.

Though it’s only November I’m ready to hop aboard the holiday train early. What about the love train? I’m already on it and encourage everyone to take a page from the song Love Train by The O’Jays— “people all over the world (everybody), join hands (join), start a love train, love train.”

Love one another and make sure those you love know it. My two most important? I love you Mom. I love you Scott.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. I’ll be back Monday. xo
